Professional Opportunities
There are many professional opportunities available to those in meat science and more broadly animal sciences.
The Careers eBook from AgCareers is a good place to start learning about the many career paths available in meat science and animal sciences. The eBook has information on each occupation’s responsibilities, usual requirements for education and training, recommended high school courses, typical employers, suggested professional organizations, and a projected job market outlook.
The Future Farmers of America’s Ag Explorer provides similar information for each occupation listed, plus average salary and the ability to search for open job listings/postings.
Finally, AgCareers offers a powerful search engine for open job listings/postings. It offers the ability to search for jobs by title, industry, and location. It also includes a place to post your resume and search for internships.
