MSABD Dissertation Research Featured on the Cover of npj Science of Food

Based on Dr. Siyuan “Steven” Sheng’s Ph.D. dissertation that was part of a collaborative research project with Dr. Erin Silva was just featured on the cover of npj Science of Food.
This publication (https://www.nature.com/npjscifood/) is a significant accomplishment to be highlighted as a Brief Communication in this internationally recognized journal.
Dr. Sheng graduated in December of 2024 at UW. Since graduating Steven has published 4 other papers from his dissertation research. Upon graduating, Dr. Sheng joined Dr. Claus’ research lab as a postdoc. Steven heads up the consumer testing efforts associated with a beef project, that is part of Dillon Walker’s M.S. research. The project underway is investing the meat quality effects of vascular rinsing of carcasses with a chilled solution that contains added calcium.
